Boothbay Harbor Police make 4 arrests
Boothbay Harbor Police Department made four arrests between March 27 and April 29. On April 1, Officer Makenzi Strout and Chief Doug Snyder arrested Robert Harvey, 30, of Boothbay on a warrant. Harvey was arrested for a second time on April 8. Strout and Sgt. Jake Powers arrested Harvey for violation of conditional release and operating while license suspended or revoked.

911 calls in Knox County now being answered by KRCC staff after eight months
ROCKLAND – Knox Regional Communications Center returned to a fully independent emergency telecommunications operation on May 1, 2024, at approximately 9:30 a.m. For eight and a half months, Waldo County fielded the KRCC’s 911 calls, transferring information electronically to the staff in Rockland, 24/7, while Knox County administrators scrambled to repopulate a severally dwindled dispatch employee roster. With a recent rebound in filled positions, and a final sign off by authorizing agencies, KRCC is back to fulfilling all aspects of the job. The contract with Waldo County still has 28 days left, which will act as a bit of a cushion in case something goes “glitchy” with the electronics, according to Gordon Page, Interim Knox County Administrator.

Registration open for Pemaquid Beach Triathlon in August
Bristol Parks and Recreation is once again partnering with Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust to host the scenic Pemaquid Beach Triathlon on Sunday, Aug. 25. The Triathlon is a fundraiser for Bristol Parks and Recreation, and the proceeds will be used to build a playground at Pemaquid Beach Park. The event is sponsored by Bangor Savings Bank, Central Lincoln County YMCA, and Side Country Sports.
