Authorities name person in Polk County fatal motorcycle crash
TOWN OF CLAYTON, Wis. (WEAU) - Authorities are naming the person who died following a motorcycle crash in the Town of Clayton Saturday. According to an updated press release from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the person who died in this crash was 53-year-old Richard Johnson of Almena, Wis.

Teenager and young adult in Wisconsin hospitalized after ATV crash
DALLAS, Wis. (WFRV) – A teenager and a young adult were sent to the hospital with injuries after a major ATV crash in northern Wisconsin on Sunday evening. According to the Barron County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a report of a four-wheeler accident on the ATV trail just north of Dallas on 17th Street at around 6:00 p.m.

BARRON — Two people were pulled from the water near Chetek on Saturday, according to the Barron County Sheriff's Department. The Barron County 911 Center received calls at 9:10 p.m. Saturday about two subjects falling into the water near the docks at Lakeside Cantina. Link Ford donates to Barron/Rusk ERT
With the help of a substantial financial donation from Link Ford of Rice Lake, the Barron/Rusk Emergency Response Team has purchased new tactical helmets that will increase safety and make sure deputies return safe to their families. These new helmets have improved capability, are more comfortable and are able to better fit with tactical equipment used by the team. The current helmets will be transferred to the non-ERT members of the patrol division to increase their safety during calls. “We can’t thank Link Ford and their employees enough for this donation but more importantly their continued support of law enforcement,” Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said. “This donation not only helps our ERT members but all our deputies who serve your community.”

Warrant issued for Balsam Lake man
A warrant has been issued for a Balsam Lake man who pleaded guilty to stealing a U-Haul but failed to appear in Barron County Circuit Court for a hearing on Wednesday. Christopher R. Foltos, 49, formerly of Phoenix, Arizona, had been charged on July 17 with felony driving or operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent after the vehicle was tagged in Rice Lake by the FLOCK camera system. Foltos pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of misdemeanor theft on Feb. 9, and he was sentenced to 31 days in jail with credit for 31 days plus ordered to pay $8,235.82 in restitution.
