Identity of 71-year-old found dead in pool released in York County

YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — UPDATE | The York County Coroner has revealed the identity of the man who was found dead in a pool near a home he was living in.

Officials say the 71-year-old was identified as Richard Flickinger from Penn Twp.

The coroner says Flickinger was found unresponsive in a pool at his residence around 7:45 a.m. Saturday night.

Resuscitative efforts were used on Flickinger but he unfortunately was not able to regain consciousness and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause and manner of Flickinger's death are still being determined.

PREVIOUS COVERAGE | A 71-year-old man was found dead in a pool on Saturday according to the York County Coroner's Office.

Officials say the coroner was sent to the 3100 block of Grandview Road in Penn Township for a reported drowning death.

The man lived at the home, being found unresponsive inside the pool around 7:45 p.m. before being pronounced dead at 9:20 p.m.

The cause and manner of death are pending upon autopsy results.
