The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission is investigating a boat explosion that happened on the Susquehanna River in Lancaster County.Emergency dispatchers say crews were called to the 1900 block of Water Street in Washington Boro, just after 10:30 p.m., Friday.According to police, one person, a 54-year-old man ,suffered burns on his face, hands, arms, and neck. He was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.Police say the victim was living in the boat at the time of the explosion.Emergency crews extinguished the fire and setup containment around the boat to help soak up any remaining fuel/hazards from floating down river.The Pa. Fish and Boat Commission Communications Director Mike Parker says the boat was tied to a dock along the Susquehanna River at the time of the incident and that the cause of the explosion was a propane heater.He added, the Pa. Fish and Boat Commission is working with Manor Township Police and local fire departments that responded to the incident and is awaiting reports from those agencies as part of the investigation.
