Child’s body found in Tamarac canal

TAMARAC, FL– The Broward Sheriff’s Office is reporting that the body of a missing six-year-old boy was discovered in a Tamarac canal.
The child was reported missing around 1:00 p.m. Saturday from the 100 block of Ann Lee Lane.
When authorities arrived at the scene, they noticed the child floating in a nearby canal.
Officials performed life-saving measures but could not revive the child.
BSO’s Homicide and Crime Scene units are still investigating the situation, however, foul play is not suspected.
BSO spokeswoman Miranda Grossman reported that “drowning is the leading cause of injury-related death for children under the age of 5.”
