Update:

NEBRASKA CITY - A Nebraska state trooper and bypassers helped the driver of a truck that fell off a bridge on the J. Sterling Morton Beltway to safety.

The concrete guardrail on the south end of the bridge sustained damage. The truck appears to have stayed on the bridge momentarily, but fell to the bottom toward the north end of the bridge, which goes over railroad tracks.

The woman was initially trapped inside the cab of her truck. She was helped out of the ravine  and was taken to Bryan LGH. She was in critical condition Friday evening.

The semi-trailer caught fire and much of its contents of food products in cardboard boxes burned.
