The Sidney Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a semi-trailer fire. Department responded with One Engine, One Heavy Rescue, and Two Command. The fire was under control within 5 minutes of arrival. The lone operator of the vehicle was asleep in the tractor at the time of the fire and was alerted by someone pulling in for fuel.
Together the two were able to disconnect the trailer as well as alert operators of nearby vehicles to get moved before the fire could spread. Temperature at the time of the fire was -7°. Crews returned to the station at 04:29.
