Man found dead in RV fire at Pinconning Park

PINCONNING TWP, MI — Police are investigating after a burned body was found in Pinconning Park.

About 11:19 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 8, Bay County Sheriff’s deputies and firefighters responded to the park at 3041 E. Pinconning Road in Pinconning Township for a 26-foot RV trailer on fire. When crews arrived, they found the trailer engulfed in flames, said Sheriff Troy R. Cunningham.

Once crews doused the flames, they found a badly burned body inside the wreckage. Cunningham said it’s believed the decedent was a 62-year-old Bay County man who had been apparently residing in the RV.

An autopsy is planned to determine the man’s cause and manner of death, with dental records needed to positively identify him, Cunningham said.
