COLUMBIA − The Boone County Fire Protection District (BCFPD) responded to a vehicle fire Wednesday morning on North Highway 63 near East Highway 124.

According to a Facebook post, crews from Station 3 and Station 7 arrived on the scene at 5:54 a.m. and found one vehicle on shoulder of the highway with fire coming from the engine compartment.

No injuries reported, according to BCFPD. 

Northbound Highway 63 was closed for a short period of time while firefighters extinguished the fire. The Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted with traffic control.

Two engines, one tanker, and eight firefighters responded, along with an ambulance from Boone Health EMS.
