Children have been led to safety after the school bus taking them home caught fire.

The coach was transporting pupils on the B4215 in Highleadon, Gloucestershire, when a fire broke out shortly before 16:00 GMT.

All of the pupils and the vehicle's driver were able to get off the bus unharmed.

Fire crews from Gloucester and Cheltenham were called to put out the flames.

A Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We received the first call at 15:49 this afternoon, to say a bus had caught fire.

"Two fire engines - one from Gloucester and one from Cheltenham - attended, and traffic was diverted by police while crews put out the fire.

"No one was injured and the road has since reopened."
