2 people burned in Interstate 78 car fire, New Jersey State Police say

Two people were burned in a car fire Friday night on Interstate 78 in Hunterdon County.

Crews were called at 8:22 p.m. to I-78 west near mile marker 14.4 in Union Township, New Jersey State Police said.

A Fiat 500 caught fire for an unknown reason and two passengers sustained burn injuries, state police said.

An injured man was airlifted to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, troopers said.
