Tractor-Trailer Loaded with Produce Catches Fire, Driver Burned

Irwindale, Los Angeles County, CA: A tractor-trailer erupted into flames burning the driver on the 210 Freeway in the city of Irwindale just after 1:00 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26.

California Highway Patrol officers from the Baldwin Park Station were in the area of the eastbound 210 Freeway just east of Irwindale Avenue when they noticed a tractor-trailer on fire.

Once officers and firefighters arrived on scene, they located a trailer fully involved in flames with the big rig and driver about 10 feet away from the trailer.

The driver of the big rig sustained burns to his hands and face and was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.

The tractor-trailer was hauling produce.
