SPRINGDALE TO TELL US ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED, JACOB? AT ABOUT 4:00 THIS MORNING SPRINGDALE OFFICS ER RESPONDED TO A FIRE HERE ON COLLINS AVENUE. "The fires were like, almost as high as like the ceiling to be honest. Probably a little bit higher. And le ik the tires were popping, making more noise and explosions." EDWIN ALVARADO WOKE UP TO THE FI. RE "I woke up at 4am to explosions of t he cars. And well, as soon as I woke up, I just started dialing the police" POLICE OFFCICERS AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED SHORTLY AFTER. Jeff Taylor // Springdale police Captain "When officers arrived on scene th ey actually found four vehicles that were on fire along with the fire department they arrived on scene they put the fire out. Once the fire was put out they found a body in one of the vehicles." THE BODY W AS SENT TO THE STATE CRIME LAB. "We just have to wait for the crime lab to let us know the manner of the cause of death and try to get a positive i-d on the peonrs." THE FIRE DEPARTMENT IS STILL INVESTIGATING THE CAUSE OF THE FI. Springdale police investigate after body found following vehicle fire
Springdale police said it was investigating after a body was discovered in a vehicle at the scene of a vehicle fire.Firefighters were called to a home on Collins Tuesday morning at 4 a.m. After crews extinguished the flames, they found a body in one of the four vehicles parked in the driveway. The identity is unknown and the body was sent to the state crime lab for an autopsy. A release from Springdale police stated that the body was burned beyond recognition.No one else was hurt in the fire.
