TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - At least eight people were injured in a bee attack near La Cañada Drive and River Road in the Tucson area on Monday, May 2.

According to the Northwest Fire District, two of the victims were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries while six others were evaluated at the scene.

The two were treated and their injuries are no longer considered life-threatening, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

Northwest Fire said crews were told several other people were stung, but they left the scene and were not treated.

The attack happened at a home on Wheatridge Drive, which is off La Canada.

The Golder Ranch Fire District and Tucson Fire Department also responded to the scene and crews used water to suppress the swarm.
