Emergency crews responded to a collision involving five vehicles Thursday afternoon on James Island, according to Charleston Police.

CPD said the collision occurred on Folly Road, at Ellis Creek Drive.

One driver had an apparent medical event, causing the vehicle to go into oncoming traffic and strike four other vehicles.

The driver who had a medical event was transported to a hospital for treatment and three of the cars were towed, according to CPD.
