Hundreds of residents in the Village of Fredonia were in the dark for approximately two hours due to a power outage Saturday evening. National Grid crews, along with Fredonia Fire and Fredonia Police, responded to Central Avenue at about 8:00 PM after a transformer caught fire. According to National Grid, 722 customers had lost power in an area that included Middlesex Drive, Newton Street and Lambert Avenue. Power was fully restored at approximately 10:00 PM.
