Sinkhole closes Charlotte Highway in Buncombe County

BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) —
A sinkhole on US-74 ALT (Charlotte Highway) in Fairview has closed the road.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation expects the road to be closed near Sugar Hollow Road until around 10 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, for repairs.
Officials say local traffic will have access during this time but there will be delays.

The sinkhole was first reported on Wednesday at around 10:30 a.m.
