Delta flight returns to Detroit Metro Airport due to passenger medical emergency

(WWJ) A medical issue involving a passenger led to an emergency declaration on board a Delta Air Lines flight that took off from Detroit Metro Airport on Thursday.

A spokesperson for Delta said Flight 1255 from Detroit to Los Angeles, California returned to Metro Airport, Thursday afternoon, following an "apparent customer medical issue" aboard the aircraft.

There's no word on what the medical issue was or the condition of the passenger. No further information was released.

The flight was over West Michigan when it turned around.

After a delay, Delta said the flight resumed service to L.A.
