Clackamas Fire battled a two-alarm blaze in Milwaukie on Wednesday evening that broke out at a car lot and apartment complex.
Crews were called out at about 4:40 p.m. to the 18100 block of Southeast McLoughlin Boulevard.
A Clackamas Fire spokesperson said the fire started in some arborvitae, spread to some vehicles, and eventually reached a nearby apartment complex.
"The weather that we've been having lately is very conducive to low humidity, everything is dried out," said Izak Hamilton, spokesperson for Clackamas Fire. "It didn't take long for that fire to grow and spread to the apartment complex right behind it, and then because of the radiant heat, it also affected the building just adjacent to it."
Firefighters helped people living in the apartments safely evacuate their homes, and there were no reports of injuries from the fire. It was unclear how many units were affected or how many cars were burned.
Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue helped Clackamas Fire get the fire under control by about 5:20 p.m.
