The Martin City Police Department announced that an 18 wheeler coal truck caught on fire earlier today on Highway 80 between the Martin Community Center and Henry’s Branch across from Jacob’s Towing in Martin.

The Maytown Fire Department arrived on the scene after dispatch received a call concerning the fire shortly after 11 am. The westbound lane of Highway 80 was partially closed as a result of the incident.

No one was injured in the incident. It is still under investigation.

All lanes are back open.
