Tanker fire closes portion of I-95 in Lumberton

LUMBERTON, N.C. (WPDE) —
A tanker truck caught fire just before 8 a.m. on Monday leading to a portion of I-95 North being closed, according to officials with the N.C. Department of Transportation.

It’s not clear what caused the truck to burn.
The incident happened near Exit 17.
Troopers ask that drivers follow the direction of on-scene personnel.

The road will be closed until approximately 2:50 p.m. on Monday afternoon.
