LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Five Louisville Metro police patrol cars were damaged during an attempt by police to stop a car going the wrong way on a one-way street.
Sgt. Matt Sanders, commander of the LMPD media and public relations unit, said officers saw a red Chevy Malibu driving the wrong way around 12:30 p.m. Officers tried to stop the car which was going at a slow speed, but the vehicle kept going.
The vehicle was eventually stopped at E. Liberty and So. Shelby streets. WAVE News video shows the car struck a piece of construction equipment.
Sanders says LMPD is expected to file charges against the driver, but they have not ruled out the possibility of a medical issue as a factor.
