Big Rig Cab Burns on 5 Freeway

MISSION HILLS, LOS ANGELES, June 10 (KNN) – The cab of a big rig erupted into flames on the 5 Freeway Saturday night prompting a response from the California Highway Patrol and the Los Angeles Fire Department.

CHP was notified of a semi-truck on fire around 10:15 p.m. on the southbound 5 Freeway truck route to the I-405 (San Diego) Freeway.

The LAFD extinguished the flames that started in the cab of the big rig. The big rig trailer was empty at the time of the fire.

No injuries were reported.

CHP issued a SigAlert at 10:15 p.m. for an unknown period of time.
