Semi-truck fire shuts down U.S. 95 northwest of Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) —
A semi-truck fire has shut down a stretch of U.S. 95 northwest of Las Vegas Wednesday morning.

The RTC of Southern Nevada said the fire was reported on the northbound side of the highway at Nye County mile marker 7, just past the Mercury Highway exit west of Indian Springs.
Nevada State Police later said that both directions of U.S. 95 have been closed. Traffic is being diverted at Highway 160 and Mercury.
There is no word on when the highway is expected to reopen.

Expect delays and consider using northbound Highway 160, which runs through Pahrump, as an alternate route if heading north from Las Vegas.
