Lake Dallas Marina Incident, Two Boats Engulfed in Fire, No Injuries ReportedSource: Google Street View

Fire crews from Lake Cities Fire Department were on the scene at Lakeview Marina in Lake Dallas Sunday morning, following an incident where a boat caught fire and set another adjacent vessel ablaze. The fires were promptly responded to, preventing further spread and potential disaster at the marina, NBC DFW reported.

Caught in the throes of the blaze, both boats were declared total losses, though, hearteningly, no injuries were reported. The havoc brought by the flames required the collaboration of not just Lake Cities Fire, but also the assistance from the Lewisville and Little Elm Fire Departments, who were key in removing the engulfed boats from their covered dock, according to WFAA.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Lake Cities Fire Department. They are currently sifting through evidence and witness accounts to determine the ignition point and subsequent spread of the fire from one boat to the other. This mishap has once again put a spotlight on the importance of fire safety measures in marina environments.
