Fire crews have contained a massive fire Tuesday night at the ICE Recycling Warehouse on Cedar Street in Lake City.
Crews were dispatched at 8:27 p.m. to the ICE Recycling Warehouse, according to the Lake City Fire Department.
Neighbors said you can see flames and black smoke for miles.
The Lake City Department received mutual aid from several area units, including South Lynches Fire Department, Howell Springs Fire Department, and Olanta Fire Department, as well as assistance from Florence County Emergency Medical Services and Lake City Police Department.
Duke Energy was reporting that 996 customers were without power citing, "The outage was caused by a fire that damaged our equipment." However, as power was fully restored after 10:00 p.m.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
Fire crews remain on scene as of 11:15 p.m.
