“Well once officers got in the area and started making contact with their reporting parties and then the other gentleman that was involved that had his car shot we were able to isolate it over here,” KPD, Sergeant, Ron Salter, said.

The vehicle was shot at near South Kellogg St., which was right next to the second location Quay St. where the suspect had run afterwards Sergeant Salter said.

Officers then had residents evacuate the apartment building where the suspect was at. Officers were quickly able to communicate with the suspect after Sergeant Salter said.

“When officers got here we contained the area. We after a short investigation, we were able to isolate that the suspect went back into the apartments behind us,” Sergeant Salter said, “We immediately started to have the suspect come out to us which he would not comply with. We had additional resources come in to assist us tri-cities regional swat team and other agencies and we eventually after a short standoff with him, the suspect exited and was taken into custody without further incident.”
