Fire crews in Huddleston had a busy start to the week after two fires in less than 24 hours.
The Huddleston Volunteer Fire Department responded to Pecks Baptist Church on Sunday at 4:13 p.m. for a report of a vehicle fire.
Crews arrived to find the church van heavily involved from the engine compartment which in turn threatened the church building.
Due to the threat of fire spreading to the building, Company 8 (Moneta) was requested and responded to provide assistance.
The fire was contained to the van and no damage was caused to the church.
On Monday at 5:18 a.m., crews from the department were dispatched to Wyatt's Way for a report of a structure fire.
Crews arrived to find a barn fully involved with flames threatening the home nearby.
The fire was extinguished with a total loss to the barn and heat damage to the siding of the home.
The department said there was no further extension into the home.
