Man killed in crash, fire involving tractor trailer on I-22 near Graysville

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WBMA) —
A man was killed in a crash involving a tractor trailer Friday morning.

The incident happened around 12:40 a.m. on Interstate 22 West at mile marker 87 in Graysville.
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office said the man was the driver and lone occupant of a sedan traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Interstate 22.
The man's vehicle collided head-on with a tractor trailer traveling westbound, resulting in both vehicles catching fire.
The coroner's office said the man's identity is unknown due to trauma sustained in the crash and subsequent fire.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency state troopers are investigating the cause and circumstances surrounding the wreck.
