Body found in canal Cherry and American Avenues south of Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — A body was found in the canal near Cherry and American Avenues south of Fresno Monday morning.

Fresno County Sheriff's Office got a call for a possible body in the canal.

MultipleI deputies are there as well as workers from the Fresno Irrigation District.

They have confirmed there is a body in the South Central Canal that runs along the Cherry Avenue Auction site.

Sheriff's Office says this looks to be a person that has been in the canal for a while.
