Body found in pool area of Fort Lauderdale’s popular Society Las Olas building

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A death investigation was launched in downtown Fort Lauderdale Sunday morning.

According to police, officers and fire rescue workers responded to the Society Las Olas building, located on the 300 block of Southwest First Avenue, in response to a body being found.

After arriving, first responders found the body at the building’s pool area and pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Investigators were working to gather additional information regarding the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

Police have yet to reveal the man’s identity.

Residents of the building were notified that the pool area would be closed until further notice.

It’s unclear whether foul play is suspected.
