Car fire on I-195 west disrupts morning commute

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A car fire on Interstate 195 west disrupted traffic during the Friday morning commute.

Rhode Island State Police said a car fully caught fire around 8:30 a.m. at exit 2.

Police said no one was injured.

The Department of Transportation initially reported it was a crash.

RIDOT camera footage showed traffic at a standstill.

Drivers were advised to avoid the area and take a different route.
