Several cars went up in flames Sunday morning at a car dealership in Durham.

At 7:23 a.m. on Sunday Durham fire crews responded to Kentington Drive in Southpoint, where they found multiple cars on fire.

The fire was quickly brought under control, and there were no injuries.

A total of 12 vehicles were involved, with four of them sustaining substantial damage. The eight others had varying degrees of damage based on their proximity to the fire.

The fire is being ruled accidental due to a prior history of problems with one of the vehicles.

The Durham Police Department said they received calls from nearby witnesses and residents who saw smoke in the area.

The investigation is ongoing.
