Large response to train trestle bridge fire south of Corning Wednesday

TEHAMA COUNTY, Calif. —
According to the Cal Fire Tehama-Glenn Unit, multiple fire units responded to a report of a fully involved train trestle bridge fire Wednesday.

Officials say the Tehama County Fire Department, Corning City Fire Department, Orland Fire Department, Hamilton City Fire Department, and Capay Fire District were there to mitigate the flames.
The incident occurred on Kirkwood and Capay roads just south of Corning.
There was minimal spread to surrounding vegetation, according to officials. However, a significant amount of the bridge was burned.
Officials say the fire was knocked down by 7:30 that night.

On Thursday morning, the fire was fully contained, and all resources were released.
