Garage, RV, 5 cars catch fire in Rutherford County

The homeowner was reportedly home at the time of the fire.
The homeowner managed to escape safely.

CHRISTIANA, Tenn. (WSMV) - No injuries were reported after a garage, an RV, and five cars caught fire in Rutherford County on Wednesday.

Rutherford County Fire and Rescue (RCFR) crews went to a structure fire in the 200 block of Applewood Lane in Christiana.

When crews arrived, they quickly worked to prevent the fire from spreading to a nearby home and other vehicles.

Rutherford County officials said the homeowner was home at the time of the fire but was not injured.

“RCFR, Christiana Volunteer Fire Department, Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services, and Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residential structure fire,” RCFR officials said. “Mutual aid was provided by Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department.”

Crews are investigating the cause of the fire.
