CENTER OSSIPEE, NEW HAMPSHIRE (WGME) -- New Hampshire State Police Marine Patrol responded to a boat on fire Tuesday afternoon. This happened while members of Ward's Boat Shop were conducting a water test of the boat on Ossipee Lake, in Center Ossipee.
Police say the driver of the boat intended to bring it back to shore after the operating system began to malfunction, and the boat caught fire before it reached the dock. The boat came to a stop in front of Lakefront Landing Marina and caused some fire damage there. The driver of the boat sustained superficial burns from the fire, but otherwise wasn't injured.
Multiple nearby police and fire departments responded and put out the fire, and took the burnt boat out of the water at the launch ramp.
