Police and fire units respond to plow truck fire: Brunswick Hills Township Police Blotter

Fire, Pearl Road

Police and fire units from Brunswick and Brunswick Hills responded to a reported snow plow truck fire at Skyview Lodge Dec. 19. The fire was extinguished and the caller said he was driving the truck up a hill and heard a popping noise shortly before the fire started. Police suspect the fire was caused by a fuel line issue.

Fraud, Cabernet Drive

A woman reported receiving a text message Dec. 20 from a person claiming to be from UPS requesting she click a link for information related to a package she was expecting. The woman then provided the suspect or suspects with her husband’s Social Security and bank card numbers before she realized the text was a scam.

Assault, Kenton Lane

Police responded to a call at 6:28 p.m. Dec. 20 from a 13-year-old boy who said his father struck him in the face. The man reportedly admitted to doing so and stated he was disciplining his son. Police advised him that hitting his son was excessive discipline and no charges were filed.
