Shreveport mayor issues statement on Fair Grounds Field litigation. Here's what he said.
Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux issued a statement Friday regarding an ongoing lawsuit between the city and Friends of Fairgrounds, LLC. According to a press release from Arceneaux's office, there is a long-standing policy of the City of Shreveport not to comment in the media on ongoing litigation. However, due to certain statements being released Thursday regarding revitalization of the Fair Grounds Field, Arceneaux felt it necessary to respond.

A historic mid century Shreveport hotel could be yours
Here’s your chance to be a multi-use magnate and hotelier at the same time. The mid-century Motor Hotel has been a fixture at the Line Avenue/ Jordan Street intersection in Shreveport since 1950. The property was built by noted Shreveport businessman and developer N.O. Thomas, who is also responsible for the building at 505 Travis St. in downtown Shreveport that once bore his name. It is now known as Government Plaza.

In 2020, Louisiana was hit with a hurricane double punch. In August of that year, Laura, the strongest hurricane on record to make landfall on the state came ashore. Laura maintained hurricane force winds until it crossed Interstate 20. National Weather Service records for northwest Louisiana show that there were numerous trees and power lines downed, structural damage to buildings and localized flooding. In October came Delta, whose winds and rains compounded the problems left by Laura.
Community provides support for displaced Shreveport renters
SHREVEPORT, La. – The landlords and owners of the Jolie Apartments, Pines Apartments, and Villa Norte Apartments have failed to pay bills, forcing the city to take action. The hot and sunny trend continues tomorrow with more areas around the region reaching the 90′s, if not the upper 80′s. The humidity will make it feel like temperatures are a degree or two higher than what they will be. The main driver for these sunny conditions is our high pressure system moving in from the west. Hundreds of students graduate from LSU Health Shreveport
SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Saturday, May 18 was an exciting day for students at LSU Health Shreveport. Hundreds of graduates walked across the stage and earned their degrees. The keynote speaker was Dr. Ralph Abarham who is an alum of LSU Health Shreveport. This marks the university’s 51st graduation ceremony.

On May 17, Shreveport Councilman Gary Brooks withdraws ordinance 58 from the Shreveport city council’s agenda.
