Inmate found unresponsive in Bexar County jail cell: Medical episode suspected

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Sheriff's Office says an inmate was found unresponsive in her cell during observation checks.

The deputy found the inmate and immediately began performing CPR on the 53-year-old female inmate.

EMS arrived at the jail where she was pronounced dead. BCSO says she appears to have suffered a medical episode however, the Medical Examiner's office will work to determine her exact cause of death.
