A tractor was consumed by fire Thursday evening northeast of Aurora on 15 Road. Assistant Fire Chief Jeff Schneider reported that the tractor was fully engulfed in flames by the time fire crews arrived on the scene. The tractor, owned by Randy and Sara Jensen, had made it to the end of the field and was positioned just off 15 Road, providing easy access to fire crews. Schneider said the fire apparently started under the cab. Crews remained on scene for approximately 90 minutes, and had to be called back to the scene a short time later, using a grass rig to contain flames in the cornfield.
