Man killed in crash, fire involving tractor trailer on I-59 near Attalla

ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. (WBMA) —
A Georgia man is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Etowah County Tuesday afternoon.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said 70-year-old Kester Bruton, of Pooler, was fatally injured when the 2007 Volvo tractor trailer that he was driving left the roadway, struck a tree and caught fire.
The crash happened around 2:20 p.m. on Interstate 59 near the 188 mile marker, about five miles north of Attalla.

ALEA said Bruton was pronounced dead at the scene.

No additional details were released as ALEA said its troopers with the Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
