TRAFFIC | Car fire closes lanes on GA-400 North

It happened near Northridge Road before Sandy Springs and Dunwoody.

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — A car fire closed lanes on GA-400 North early Wednesday morning north of Atlanta.

The 11Alive SkyTracker flew over the scene, where firefighters could be seen putting the fire out.

It happened near Northridge Road past Sandy Springs and Dunwoody, and briefly had all lanes closed as firefighters finished putting out the fire.

It appeared around 8:30 a.m. that a couple left lanes had reopened.

The incident was causing backup down toward Abernathy Road.

There was no word initially on if there were any injuries in the incident.

At 8:43 a.m., Sandy Springs Police posted on X: "Vehicle fire on State Route 400 (northbound) just south of the Chattahoochee River. SSFD and SSPD are on scene. Lanes 1 and 2 are open at this time. Expect some delays."
