RV Fire in the Arcata Bottoms This Morning

Photos from reader Loren Furber

A recreational vehicle (RV) caught fire near the intersection of US-255 and Jackson Ranch Road in the Arcata bottoms before 7 a.m. today. The person who called dispatch reported she could hear explosions coming from the fire.

When fire crews arrived at the scene they reported the RV was fully involved and there was a “large column of smoke showing.”

We will update this post if we get more information.

The pristine Arcata bottoms, how much toxic waste did this guy just dump in the marsh? He’ll get another rv and be back. Now if he would have dumped a dead cow and had money it would be a totally different story, crack me up. Americans drug dependency has brought us here.

Truth! The dead cow operation didnt change a bit. It’s who ya know, big time! Where do all his sick animals get butchered and dispersed? That whole marsh has to be a 💩 pit.

This photo doesn’t look like the fire is at Jackson ranch road at 255. It looks closer to Manila. Where is it taken from?

That RV has been there for weeks with a bunch of dogs in it. The front end was missing and all of the tires flat. It had neon, handwritten poster board messages all over. The sheriff’s and animal control did nothing

First of all, I’m a woman not a guy. That was MY RV. Yes I have been there for a couple of weeks, and yes, I do have a lot of dogs. The number of dogs I have is irrelevant to this conversation though. Since parking at that spot, all of my tires were stabbed, every single day and night at least two people, whom I’m assuming live in the bottom somewhedrivere, would by, throw things at thear such as full cans of energy drinks, rocks, and who knows what else. Along with screaming hateful things, and blaring their horn. The neon signs were there to make people aware of my situation, and to let people know that I wasn’t your average homeless person. I used to run the free clothing closet, called wardrobe of joy, from my home. I love giving back to my community. Although I have found that this community is nowhere near as loving as they’d like people to believe they are. The bullying while in the bottoms and the terrorizing of myself and my puppies was appalling, and whoever did it should be very ashamed of themselves. Although I doubt they are, since no one with a conscience or a heart would want to do that to somebody else. I know my RV was ugly, but I’m disabled, and after losing my house during covid, I really didn’t care much what my rolling home looks like anymore. But I’ll tell you one thing, I know that somebody said that fire. There were NO propane tanks with propane in them, the generator hadn’t run in as long as I had the RV, and there was NO gasoline on board. It could NOT have been started by an electrical issue, due to the fact that there was NO battery connected and most of my wires had been cut by my ex. I know it was probably time for a change, anyway. ,I was tired of trying to find people. that would help me move that Beast, my “eyesore,” as the Arcata police like to call it. This is the third time that I have lost nearly everything due to fire in the last 2 years one of those times I nearly lost my life. I am very grateful that my puppies and I weren’t in there. Although some of you probably wish I had been. But don’t worry Humboldt, I’m a tough cookie and I won’t be taken down that easy. While my rolling home may have taken on a different look, you’ll still be seeing me around. You’ll know it’s me by my neon signs. Don’t be afraid to stop and say hi, maybe have a cup of coffee. I’m transparent, you’ll know exactly what I’m up to or what my plans are if you read my signs. Please don’t be afraid to ask me questions , or even voice concerns. You’ll always get a straight answer from me, and I’ll always take into consideration your thoughts. Oh, and yeah, sometimes I DO need help, and thats ok. We all need a little help sometimes, don’t we?
