ANN ARBOR, MI -- Delivery day was delayed at an Ann Arbor home after an Amazon truck caught fire in the driveway.
Ann Arbor fire crews were called to the 900 block of Vesper Road around 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27, for the truck fire.
In a video shared to the department’s social media, the fire can be seen engulfing the front of the truck, with smoke billowing around the sides. The fire was caused by a mechanical failure in the engine, fire officials said on social media.
The fire was put out shortly after crews arrived on scene, said Ann Arbor fire Chief Mike Kennedy.
There were no injuries.
One adjacent vehicle and some house trim sustained heat damage, officials said. Several packages in the back of the truck were also damaged.
Crews cleared the scene around 12:45 p.m.
