AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) —
One person is dead after a fiery crash on US 60, just east of the Amarillo City limit.

Police said a Subaru Crosstrek, headed east, veered of the highway around 9:30 a.m. and hit a fence, a gas line, and a building near the old English Field terminal.
The vehicle then caught on fire with the driver trapped inside.
The driver died at the scene.
A teletype was sent to Phoenix police to attempt to make contact with the victim’s family.
Atmos Energy was called to shut off the gas.
The Amarillo Fire Department, Amarillo Police Department, Potter County Sheriff's Office and AMS also responded.
The eastbound lanes of US 60 were closed at Lakeside for about three hours.
