Fire destroys house, RV

Courtesy photo A small home southeast of Alamosa caught fire of unknown origin Saturday night and spread to a nearby RV. Both were destroyed.

ALAMOSA– Fire of unknown origin destroyed a house and a recreational vehicle southeast of here about 2:45 p.m. Saturday.

Alamosa Fire Department Captain Zach Cerny said there were no injuries to people or pets during the incident near the intersection of Alamosa County Road 122 and Estrella Road. He added that there was no apparent cause for the blaze and no signs of possible arson.

The fire apparently started in the house which was being remodeled to serve as a dog kennel and then spotted to the RV.

Cerny said Alamosa Fire responded with four trucks and six personnel and were assisted by Costilla Fire with three units and four firefighters, who were all on scene about two hours.
